Office Manager- San Luis

JOB PURPOSE: Assures smooth and efficient operation of the elementary school and enhances the productivity and efficiency of administration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enrolls and registers new students; pre-registers all incoming students on registration day.
Maintains data base for accuracy of enrollment (year-round).
Maintains cumulative folders on all currently enrolled students.
Checks in shipments and keeps records of all invoices.
Tallies funds and makes deposits for school pictures, book fairs, school and class fundraisers, and petty cash.
Promotes and schedules school pictures.
Does end of year teacher checkout for: planbooks/gradebooks, report cards, permanent record cards, teacher handbook and room keys.
Prepares teacher handbooks/gradebooks, orientation folders, and student handbooks prior to year's beginning.
Processes paperwork for transferring students, teacher sick days, extra duty pay, early days out and substitute time sheets.
Performs related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years experience in office and/or clerical.
Must be able to proficiently communicate in English and Spanish.
Proficient on Microsoft Office programs and ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Knowledge of District and school policies and procedures; knowledge of reception and telephone etiquette and techniques; knowledge of general clerical and record-keeping techniques; knowledge of standard office practices, principles, and methods; skill in English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation; skill in verbal and written communication; skill in following oral and written instructions; skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
